India's Got Tatent:

Will the controversy between Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahabadia make social media rules stricter?

Humors, satire or sarcasm is considered an art in itself, which comments on the society and also attacks the social systems.

But how this attack is being made and with what words is important. Also, what topic is being discussed is important.

This is why whenever a comedian is targeted for his work, the issue of freedom of expression comes up.

But last week, the discussion went beyond this freedom to the choice of topics, the use of language, and the impact of digital media on different sections of society. The reason was some of the things said by Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahabadia and Apoorva Makhija in a program called 'India's Got Latent'.

Some clips of the show 'India's Got Latent' went viral on social media and after this the controversy grew a lot. The matter has now reached FIR and police action.

Now the question arises whether there is a need to control the content coming on OTT or social platforms these days? Do the content creators or those we call influencers need to keep in mind the reality of Indian society?

In the name of freedom of expression, is the abuse in such content crossing a limit? Is this a reflection of society itself, or is it the effect of not putting in much effort in creativity and creativity? And to what extent is the anger and action of the people justified?
