Varun Chakravarthy shines in India's victory against New Zealand, will face Australia in the semi-finals
Second ball of the 45th over. Varun Chakravarthy uprooted the off stump of Mitchell Santner who was playing after scoring 28 runs and ended the last hope of victory for New Zealand.
After this ball, Team India's victory became just a formality and Varun Chakravarthy, playing his second ODI, completed that formality by taking five wickets.
The Indian cricket team defeated New Zealand by 44 runs in its last match of the group stage and continued its undefeated streak.
Now on March 4, India will face Australia in the first semi-final match of the ICC Champions Trophy.
After losing the toss, India batted first and scored 249 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs.
But New Zealand were all out for 205 runs in 45.3 overs and Team India managed to win the match by 44 runs.
India made one change in the playing 11 today and Varun Chakraborty was given in the team in place of Harshit Rana.
This move of captain Rohit Sharma worked and Varun managed to take five wickets for 42 runs in 10 overs.
